Credit Analyst

Position Summary
Analyze the financial information of individuals and businesses to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit. Prepare reports from the analysis for use in making a credit decision in cooperation with the commercial lenders and executive management.
Essential Functions
- Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit to a customer.
- Generate financial spreadsheets and ratios
- Obtain credit and environmental reports on individuals and businesses
- Compare applicants liquidity, profitability, leverage and cash flow to similar businesses in their industry
- Periodically meet with applicants as requested by commercial lenders
- Review credit requests for compliance to the bank’s lending policies
- Maintain annual review and financial statement tracking reports
- Provide commercial bankers a monthly report of annual review and financial statement due dates
- Work with commercial lenders to maintain the accuracy of the tracking reports
- Prepare monthly and quarterly loan portfolio reports as designated by the Chief Credit Officer
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field
Experience: One to three years of credit underwriting experience is preferred
Skills:
- Good written communication skills
- Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
- Ability to pay attention to detail
