Commercial Loan Officer

As a Commercial Loan Officer, you’ll serve as both a trusted advisor and a decision-maker. This role requires strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to balance financial insight with a people-first approach. Each day brings the opportunity to combine analytical skills with relationship-building to support our customers and our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with customers and business prospects to provide financial guidance and recommendations
• Networks with the community to provide education on small business loan and account products to meet their needs. Obtain referrals.
• Participate in community activities to enhance personal and bank recognition
• Work with the credit analyst to underwrite loan requests and present to loan committee for approvals
• Manage a loan portfolio to include:
  • Insure that all documentation is saved in the credit file
  • Maintain current financial information in the credit file
  • Perform annual credit reviews
  • Meet with customers to discuss their financial needs and provide solutions
  • Collect delinquent loan payments, tax returns and financial statements
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred
• Minimum three years of underwriting experience in a financial institution or similar role
• Extensive knowledge of banking industry regulations and procedures
• Experience with loan origination and document storage software and Excel
• Must be organized with an attention to detail
• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to win sales, negotiate loan terms, obtain loan approvals and manage customer relationships
• Fair Housing Regulations: 2 years (Preferred)
• Loan Origination: 2 years (Required)
