1853 Morrow National Bank was formed in Morrow, Ohio by James Couden, making it one of the oldest
banks in Ohio.
1935 The First National Bank of Morrow resulted from the merger of Morrow National Bank and another
national bank located in Morrow.
1956 Paul Herdman, the former Chairman of the Board, joined the Board of Directors. He became the
bank President, nine years later.
1959 During a devastating flood in January, (the bank had also been flooded in the great floods of 1913)
Bowman and Beuford Conner, who were Bank employees, waded through freezing, waist deep water
to save the records of the bank.
1963 The main office was moved to Morrow Plaza, which became the center of retail in the community.
1976 A new main office was opened at Colony Square in Lebanon.
1992 Jillora Summers succeeded Mr. Herdman as President of the bank
2000 Two 7-day a week banking centers were opened in Biggs stores.
2003 The Mason Banking Center was opened on Mason-Montgomery Rd.
2004 1st Online, Internet banking was introduced to 1st National Bank customers.
2005 Banking centers opened in the new Wal-Mart stores at, West Chester and Lebanon. 1st OnCall,
the automated telephone banking was introduced.
2006 1st National Bank passed $100 million in assets. The banking center in the Eastgate Wal-Mart
opened bringing the total number of banking locations to 14. The Administrative offices moved
to a brand new building located at 1160 E. Main St. in Lebanon. Digital images replaced checks
for bank and client record keeping.
2007 Estatements were introduced so that customers could receive their statements and check images
via electronic mail.
2010 Remote Deposit Capture was introduced to our business customers. Business customers who
qualify can now remotely send their deposits to the bank electronically. 1st National Bank opened
the Mortgage Lending office at their Mason location.
2011 Mobile Money was introduced to 1st National Bank customers. Customers are now able to retrieve
account information and perform transactions with their mobile devices.
2012 B. Robert Harlow was promoted from Executive Vice President to President of the Bank.
2013 Jillora Summers succeeded Mr. Herdman as Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
