1853 Morrow National Bank was formed in
Morrow, Ohio by
James Couden,
making it one of the oldest banks in Ohio.
1935 The First National Bank of
Morrow resulted from the merger
of Morrow
National Bank and another national bank located
in Morrow.
1956 Paul Herdman, the current Chairman
of the Board, joined the
Board of
Directors. He became the bank President, nine years
later.
1959 During a devastating flood in
January, (the bank had also been
flooded in
the great floods of 1913 and 1937), Clarence
Bowman and
Beauford Conner waded through freezing, waist
deep water to
save the records of the bank.
1963 The main office was moved to
Morrow Plaza, which became
the center of
retail in the community.
1976 A new main office was opened at
Colony Square in Lebanon.
1992 Jillora Summers succeeded Mr.
Herdman as President of the
bank.
2000 Two 7 day a week banking centers were
opened in Bigg's
stores
2003 The Mason Banking Center was
opened on Mason-
Montgomery
Rd.
2004 1st Online, internet banking was
introduced.
2005 Banking centers opened in the new
Walmart stores in
West Chester
and Lebanon. 1st OnCall, automated
telephone
banking was introduced.
2006 1st National Bank passed $100
million in assets. The banking
center in
Eastgate Walmart opened bringing the total number of
of banking
locations to 14. The administrative offices moved to
1160 E. Main
Street. Digital images replace checks for bank and
client record
keeping.
